About the Center: 
The Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion was established in 2014 and aims to equip public health professionals with the tools to fight preventable diseases brought on by unhealthy behaviors and unfavorable social and policy environments on the local, national and global levels. The Center trains faculty and students in the art and science of health promotion and advocacy and develops and disseminates innovative and effective health promotion and advocacy interventions that address key health issues.

Safe and Equitable Implementation of Autonomous Vehicle Technology: A Conversation on Public Health

The Johns Hopkins Center for Injury Research and Policy at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden are convening a first-of-its-kind gathering to focus public attention on how to promote deployment of autonomous vehicle technology in ways that provide the greatest social benefits through a focus on safety and equity. This one-day event at the Bloomberg School will feature an open forum from 9:00-Noon, bringing together key thought leaders who will discuss vehicle technology and Vision Zero as public health interventions, ethical and legal issues, and implementation models that can help realize the desired social benefits. The event is open to the public.
