On Thursday, October 11 at 4 p.m., the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health will host a forum on the 30th Anniversary of “Seize Control of the FDA,” an action by thousands of protesters on October 11, 1988.

Participants will include AIDS activists who led the protest -- including Peter Staley, Mark Harrington, Ann Northrop, and Gregg Gonsalves, former FDA Commissioner David A. Kessler and former NIH and FDA scientist Susan Ellenberg. They will discuss this historic protest and its legacy for drug approval and beyond.

Join us in Sommer Hall, or watch the live webcast here:

A reception will follow in the Gallery from 5:30-6:30 pm.
